ChatGPT Intelligent UI: GPT-6 builds the calculator now
GPT-6 in ChatGPT now answers with interactive calculators, charts, and forms. Generic tools are free in chat. Your real prices are what still win.
For years, a quote calculator on your website was a reason to visit your website. As of today, ChatGPT will build one inside the answer. OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT with Intelligent UI, a feature that answers with tappable buttons, editable charts, forms, and task-specific calculators instead of only text. Paid users get it today. Free users get it tomorrow. That is a lot of people who no longer need your generic tool.
What actually happened
TechCrunch reports that Intelligent UI started rolling out on Wednesday, October 7, to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users, globally. Free and Go users get access on Thursday, October 8. Users who want fewer visuals can turn them down in settings.
The demos were practical: a personal savings calculator, recipe visuals, a bicycle mechanics diagram, and a multi-day hiking map. OpenAI product manager Aarush Selvan told TechCrunch that ChatGPT "has predominantly been a text-based interface" and that the most helpful answers are not always text.
In OpenAI's announcement, the company says the model decides when to answer with text, visuals, or interactive parts. It says paid tiers run GPT-6 Sol and Free and Go run GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI also says the models behind ChatGPT Work and Codex do not change with this release. This is an update to the Chat experience.
Why it matters for your business
Generic tools are now free in chat. A mortgage estimator, a paint-quantity calculator, a "how much tile do I need" form, a party-size food planner. If your tool does math that anybody can do, a customer can now get the same tool in ChatGPT without visiting you. One of OpenAI's own demos was a shopping calculator that changes with the number of guests.
Your numbers are the part ChatGPT cannot make. The model can build the calculator. It does not know your price per square foot, your delivery zones, your lead times, or what is in stock this week. A tool that runs on your live data still has a reason to exist. A tool that runs on industry averages does not.
Make your data easy to read. If a customer asks ChatGPT to compare installers, the answer uses whatever it can find. Publish real price ranges, service areas, and specs as plain, structured text on your site. Vague "call for a quote" pages give the model nothing to use.
Check the tool you already have. Open ChatGPT, ask it to build your calculator, and compare. If its version is as good as yours, change yours: connect it to your inventory, your schedule, or your quoting system.
Key takeaways
- GPT-6 in ChatGPT answers with interactive calculators, charts, forms, and buttons
- Paid tiers got it October 7; Free and Go get it October 8
- OpenAI frames it as a Chat update; Work and Codex models do not change
- Generic website calculators lose their value when ChatGPT builds one on request
- Tools connected to your real prices, stock, and schedule still give customers a reason to visit you
Is your site tool something ChatGPT can now build in ten seconds? We build quote tools and calculators that run on your live prices, inventory, and schedule, so the answer is one only you can give. See what we build, or tell us about the tool you have now.
