Webex AI agents join your meetings and calls: scope what they hear

Cisco's WebexOne puts AI agents, including Claude, into Webex meetings, spaces, and calls, and adds call-screening Personal Agents. Set the scope before you invite one.

The next attendee on your sales call may be software. At WebexOne 2026 in Austin on October 7, Cisco announced Webex AI agents that you invite into spaces, meetings, and calls like a coworker. Anthropic's Claude is the headline participant. Cisco also previewed Personal Agents for Webex Calling, which screen your calls while you are busy. An agent that listens to every meeting is an agent that holds every secret said in one. Decide what it can hear before you send the invite.

What actually happened

Per Cisco's newsroom release, collaborative agents can join Webex spaces, meetings, and calls and run multi-step work across Webex and third-party apps. Cisco's example: an analytics agent pulls usage numbers, then a presentation agent puts them into a PowerPoint deck.

The specifics:

  • Claude in Webex is built on Claude Managed Agents. It joins as a team member, picks up the conversation context, and does the follow-up work. Cisco labels it "soon," with no date.
  • Personal Agents for Webex Calling, per the Webex blog, screen calls, talk with the caller to find out what they need and how urgent it is, and act for you. Cisco gives no date or preview label.
  • OpenAI dots connects to Webex context through the Webex Suite MCP integration now. A dots teammate inside Webex is "coming soon."
  • Dialog is a new harness for the Webex AI Agent customer-service platform. Its agents keep working after the conversation ends and onboard from your existing handbooks and knowledge bases.
  • Controls: Cisco says admins set what agents can see and do, with AI Agent 360 as one control plane for observability and security.
  • RoomOS 27 ships in November with native Google Meet support on Cisco room devices.

Cisco published no pricing, and most agent features have no general-availability date.

Why Webex AI agents matter for your business

A meeting agent reads the whole room. Pricing talks, HR issues, and client complaints all happen on calls. A note-taking human forgets most of it. An agent with a transcript does not, and it can pass what it heard into another app. Before anyone invites one, write down which meeting types are off-limits: payroll, legal, and anything with a customer's card or health data.

The call screener is your new front desk. If Personal Agents answer for your owner or your top salesperson, that agent talks to customers first. Script what it says and what it promises. Decide which callers always ring through. Then call it yourself and test it, the same way you would test a new receptionist.

"Soon" is not a plan. The Claude and dots teammates have no dates. Don't cancel the tool you use now for notes or call routing on the strength of a keynote. Pilot when it ships, on one team, with logs on.

Key takeaways

  • Webex AI agents, including Claude via Claude Managed Agents, can be invited into spaces, meetings, and calls
  • Personal Agents for Webex Calling screen callers and judge urgency; no ship date yet
  • List meeting types an agent never joins before you allow any agent in
  • Script and test a call-screening agent like a new hire at your front desk
  • No pricing, and most features have no GA date; RoomOS 27 arrives in November
