Marklo raises $5M for agentic marketing on Shopify
Marklo's agentic marketing platform for Shopify brands rebuilds your campaign calendar from Klaviyo, Meta and sales data. Your history is the input that matters.
Marklo raised a $5 million seed round led by Forerunner and opened a public beta of its agentic marketing platform for Shopify brands. The pitch: one agent that sees your catalog, inventory, email, SMS and ad spend at the same time, and proposes next week's campaigns. The timing is not an accident. Black Friday planning is happening now. The real story for operators is what the agent reads first: your own marketing history.
What actually happened
Per Marklo's October 14 release (distributed by GlobeNewswire), Freestyle Capital joined the round, with angel investors from Shopify and Klaviyo. The founder and CEO is Jessica Herrin, who built Stella & Dot.
The product connects to Shopify, Klaviyo, Attentive, Meta, Google, Slack, Canva and Figma. Its first job is to rebuild your past launches, promotions, email, SMS, paid media and social activity into a day-by-day, year-over-year calendar, lined up against revenue. Each week it reviews sales, inventory and the calendar, then sends campaign proposals with its reasoning and the products involved, by Slack or email. You can also ask it direct questions, such as what to do with slow-moving stock.
Named customers include Away, Clare V. and Latico Leathers. Marklo says Latico planned a full month of marketing in one day, a job that used to take most of a week across five tools. That number is the company's claim, not an audit. The release says customer data is not used to train AI models. It does not give pricing. The app is in the Shopify App Store and Klaviyo's integrations directory.
Why agentic marketing matters for your business
The calendar is the asset. Most small Shopify brands cannot answer "what did we send the week before Black Friday last year, and what did it sell?" without digging through three dashboards. An agent can only reason from history you can reconstruct. If your Klaviyo campaigns are named "Promo 3 FINAL v2," fix that before any agent reads it.
Proposals, not autopilot. Marklo sends suggestions to Slack and email. That is the correct default. Keep a person on the approve button, especially for discounts, because an agent that optimizes revenue this week can train your customers to wait for a sale.
Check the inventory link. A campaign plan that does not know your stock levels will push products you cannot ship. Any tool you test, ask what it does when a SKU sells out mid-campaign.
