Synthflow AI voice agents hit Zoom Phone: warm transfer wins

Synthflow's AI voice agents are live on Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center, and Batteries Plus runs them in 700+ stores. Why the handoff is the real product.

AI voice agents just landed in the phone system a lot of small businesses already pay for. On October 20, Synthflow AI announced that its voice agents are live in the Zoom App Marketplace for both Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center. The first named customer, Batteries Plus, runs it on Zoom Phone across more than 700 U.S. locations. The headline feature is not the voice. It is the handoff.

What actually happened

From Synthflow's release:

  • Where it runs. Synthflow's agents are available now for Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center through the Zoom App Marketplace. AI agents and human staff work in one call flow.
  • The warm transfer. When a caller needs a person, the agent transfers the call with the full transcript and any actions it already took. The caller does not repeat the story.
  • Data in both directions. Through Zoom's APIs, the agent passes conversation state, intent and history into Zoom, and reads data back from CRM and ticketing systems.
  • Speed and scale claims. Synthflow says its agents respond in under half a second and that it has handled over 65 million calls for more than 100 enterprise customers, including Freshworks and Thryv. Those are vendor numbers.
  • Rollout time. Batteries Plus CIO Kranthi Malreddy said the project took five weeks from kickoff to pilot. The release gives no pricing.

Why it matters for your business

Most bad AI phone experiences fail at one moment: the caller asks for a human and has to start over. A warm transfer with context fixes the worst part of the call, and it is the feature to test first in any voice agent demo. Call it, ask something odd, ask for a person, and see what your staff member sees when they pick up.

The Zoom angle matters for cost. If your stores or office already run on Zoom Phone, a marketplace app is a configuration project, not a phone migration. Five weeks to a pilot at 700 locations is fast. For a business with three locations, the timeline should be shorter, and the real work is the same: decide which calls the agent may finish alone (hours, stock checks, order status) and which go straight to a person (complaints, refunds, anything with a price exception).

The CRM read-back is the second thing to check. An agent that cannot see the order cannot answer "where is my order." Ask which systems the agent reads, which it writes to, and who owns the logs.

Key takeaways

  • Synthflow AI voice agents are live on Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center via the Zoom App Marketplace
  • Batteries Plus runs them on Zoom Phone at 700+ U.S. locations; five weeks from kickoff to pilot
  • Warm transfer passes the transcript and completed actions to a human, so callers do not repeat themselves
  • Speed and call-volume figures are Synthflow's own; no pricing was published
  • Before you buy, write down which calls the agent may close alone and which go straight to staff
