Videowise turns UGC video into text LLMs can cite

Videowise launched AEO and YouTube GEO for Shopify brands, converting UGC video into structured Q&A on your own domain. The underlying pattern is free.

Your most persuasive sales asset is a customer holding your product on TikTok. To a model answering "is this thing actually any good," that video does not exist. Videowise shipped a product for exactly that gap this week, and the mechanic underneath it — answer engine optimization by turning video into structured text on a domain you own — is something you can run yourself without buying anything.

What actually happened

On September 4, Videowise — a video commerce platform the company says is used by more than 4,000 brands — launched AI Visibility, exclusively for Shopify brands. It has two halves.

AEO analyzes TikTok, Instagram, and other UGC video frame by frame — audio and image both — using vector video search, then builds what Videowise calls a UGC Wiki: questions and answers drawn from real customer and creator videos, published on the brand's own store. YouTube GEO goes the other direction, generating YouTube videos with metadata written for large language models to parse.

Founder and CEO Claudiu Cioba's framing: DTC brands are sitting on hundreds, sometimes thousands, of authentic UGC videos that are completely invisible to LLMs.

Videowise also publishes conversion-uplift figures for its core video product. Those are vendor numbers about vendor customers, so we are leaving them out of the argument — the structural point stands on its own.

Why answer engine optimization matters for your business

Retrieval runs on text on crawlable pages. That is the entire constraint. An answer engine deciding whether to recommend your product reads your PDP copy, your reviews, and whatever third-party text it can reach. It does not watch your Reels. Every claim your customers make on camera — the sizing runs small, it survived the dishwasher, the battery lasted a weekend — is sitting in a format the retrieval layer cannot see.

The fix is mechanical and you can start it this week. Transcribe the video. Speech-to-text is a commodity now; the going rate has collapsed to roughly a dime per audio hour. Pull the recurring claims and objections out of the transcripts. Publish them as question-and-answer content on your own product pages, marked up with FAQPage and Product schema so the structure is machine-legible. You do not need frame-by-frame vector search to get most of the value — the audio carries the claims.

The detail worth copying from Videowise's design is where the content lives. The wiki sits on the brand's store, not on a vendor subdomain. That is the correct answer, and it is the first thing to check on any AI-visibility tool you evaluate. If a vendor hosts your answer content on their domain, you are renting the ranking, and it leaves when you churn. Your content, your domain, your schema, exportable.

Key takeaways

  • Videowise launched AI Visibility on September 4 for Shopify brands: AEO builds a Q&A wiki from UGC video, YouTube GEO generates LLM-readable video metadata
  • The company says the platform is used by 4,000+ brands; its conversion-uplift figures are vendor-reported, so we don't lean on them
  • Answer engines read text on crawlable pages — short-form video is invisible to retrieval no matter how well it converts on social
  • Do it yourself: transcribe (about $0.10/audio hour now), extract recurring claims and objections, publish as FAQ content with FAQPage and Product schema
  • Evaluate any AI-visibility vendor on one question: does the generated content live on your domain or theirs?

The answer engine recommending your competitor did not watch either of your videos. It read their FAQ page. We build transcription-to-schema pipelines that turn your existing UGC and support conversations into structured content on your own domain — indexable, exportable, yours.
