Welcome to The Rush Report: tech news, filtered by people who ship
Why we're starting another tech blog when the internet clearly has enough of them — and what you'll actually get out of reading this one.
The internet does not need another tech blog. We're starting one anyway, and here's the defense.
Most tech news is written by people who report on software. The Rush Report is written by people who build and run it — a studio that ships client systems during the day and runs its own three-store retail operation on software it built. When a new model drops, we don't summarize the press release. We plug it into a production workflow and tell you whether it survived.
What you'll get
One weekly issue. What happened in tech, AI, and software development — cut down to what actually matters, with an operator's read on each item. If a headline doesn't change what you'd build or buy, it doesn't make the cut.
Deep dives that answer real questions. What custom software actually costs. When to build vs. buy. Whether the shiny new tool holds up under production load. The stuff you search for at 11pm when the spreadsheet finally breaks you.
Build logs from our own projects. We ship in public where we can — the wins, the latency budgets, the gotchas that ate a weekend. If you've read our case studies, these are the extended cuts.
The five lanes
Everything we publish falls into one of these:
- AI & Automation — agents, models, and what they mean for businesses that ship
- Software & Dev — frameworks, tooling, and the craft of getting things live
- Commerce & Retail Tech — Shopify, inventory, POS, and the systems behind selling things
- Field Notes — our own build logs and lessons
- Tools & Teardowns — honest comparisons, no affiliate links, no exceptions
The one promise
We will never publish a take on a tool we haven't used or a pattern we haven't shipped. That rules out a lot of content. Good.
Key takeaways
- The Rush Report is tech/AI/software news filtered by working builders, not reporters
- One weekly issue + deep dives + build logs across five categories
- Nothing gets covered that we haven't actually used or shipped
Subscribe below or grab the RSS feed — and if there's a question you want answered by someone who's actually shipped the thing, send it over. Reader questions make the best deep dives.
