X Subscription bundles Grok, Cursor and X Premium: $8 to $200

SpaceXSI's X Subscription bundles Grok, Cursor and X Premium into one plan from $8 to $200 a month. Bundles are cheap until you need to leave one piece.

SpaceX Super Intelligence, the company formerly known as SpaceXAI, is folding X Premium, Grok and Cursor into one plan called "The X Subscription," TechCrunch reported on October 13. Paid tiers run from $8 to $200 a month. If your developers use Cursor, the bundle matters. Your coding tool now ships on the same bill as a social network and a chatbot.

What actually happened

Per TechCrunch, the bundle covers:

  • Grok: AI chat with voice, image and video, plus API access and the Grok Bot agent.
  • Cursor: the AI coding tools.
  • X Premium: the verified checkmark, creator tools and fewer ads.

The tiers are Free, Plus at $8 a month, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. AI usage caps rise at each tier. The free tier has limited chat and agent use, and the latest Grok models need Premium or higher.

Current X Premium+ subscribers can switch or keep their plan. The company says the comparable new plan "costs the same or less." The upgrade option is rolling out gradually.

This follows SpaceX's purchase of Cursor maker Anysphere. A bundle is the usual next step after an acquisition like that.

Why the X Subscription matters for your business

A bundle price is a lock-in price. $30 for chat, coding and social sounds cheap. Now try to drop one part. If you leave Grok, does your Cursor seat cost more? If X changes its terms, does your IDE go with it? Get the unbundled price for the one tool you actually use before you sign up.

Usage caps are the real price. "Caps rise at each tier" is not a number. Before you move a team, find out what happens when a developer hits the cap mid-sprint: a hard stop, a slowdown or an overage charge. Read the billing page, not the launch post.

Keep the workflow portable. Your prompts, rules files and repos should not depend on one vendor's plan. If your process works the same in Cursor, Claude Code or a plain editor with an API key, the bundle is a discount. If it does not, the bundle is a landlord.

Key takeaways

  • SpaceXSI bundles Grok, Cursor and X Premium into "The X Subscription"
  • Paid tiers: Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200 per month
  • Usage caps rise by tier; latest Grok models need Premium or higher
  • X Premium+ subscribers can switch or keep their current plan
  • Price the single tool you need, and know what happens at the usage cap
