Centralize's $19M: your relationship data is the product

Centralize raised $15M led by NEA to map deals from your email, calendar, CRM, and call recordings. Scope what you connect before you connect it.

Centralize came out of stealth on July 29 with a $15 million Series A led by NEA, bringing it to $19 million raised since 2023. The product is a "deal GPS": an automated org chart and relationship map assembled from your email, calendar, CRM, and call recordings, with an AI assistant that surfaces warm intro paths and flags the stakeholder nobody on your team has talked to yet. The AI part is not the interesting part. The interesting part is that your relationship data is the product — and to build the map, the tool needs to read every inbox on your sales team.

What actually happened

Per Crunchbase News, Centralize was founded in 2023 by CEO Rachit Kataria, a founding engineer on Facebook Shops at Meta, and CTO William Wang, who built Slack Huddles. NEA led the Series A with Salesforce Ventures, Y Combinator, 20 Sales, Ritual Capital, and Adverb Ventures participating, plus angels including Stewart Butterfield and Metronome CEO Scott Woody. Salesforce Ventures had led the earlier $4 million seed.

Its assistant, Centra, reads call recordings, emails, calendar events, and public web sources to identify stakeholders, catch job changes, and recommend the next move. Named customers include CoreWeave, Cognition, Decagon, Brex, Webflow, LangChain, and MaintainX. The company says revenue grew nearly 8x year over year — a vendor-supplied multiple with no disclosed base, so read it as direction, not magnitude.

Why your relationship data matters for your business

We've made this argument about call recordings as training data. Same thesis, new vendor, sharper edge — because this category's real ask is on the OAuth consent screen, not the pricing page.

A tool that maps every relationship in every deal needs mail and calendar read access across your whole team. In Microsoft Graph terms that's the difference between a delegated Mail.Read per user and an application-level grant that reads all mailboxes in the tenant, with no user in the loop. Google's gmail.readonly at the workspace level is the same shape. That's not a sales tool permission. That's a discovery-grade copy of every conversation your company has ever had. Which may be fine — but it should be a decision you make deliberately, not one you click through in the last four minutes of a demo.

Three things to settle before you connect anything to your mail:

  1. Read the scope list, not the feature list. Insist on delegated, per-user consent so an offboarded rep's access dies with their account. Application-wide mailbox grants outlive everybody.
  2. Ask where the derived data lives. Transcripts, embeddings, and the graph itself. Retention window, region, and whether any of it trains shared models. Get the answer in the contract, not the FAQ.
  3. Keep your own copy. Scheduled export of CRM records and transcripts into object storage you control. If you churn, you should lose a UI, not your relationship history.

Do that and the tool is a subscription. Skip it and the relationship graph — the actual asset — belongs to whoever holds the OAuth token.

Key takeaways

  • Centralize raised a $15M Series A led by NEA, $19M total since 2023, with Salesforce Ventures, Y Combinator, and others
  • Founded by a Meta Facebook Shops founding engineer and the Slack engineer behind Huddles
  • Its assistant reads email, calendar, CRM, and call recordings to map deal stakeholders and intro paths
  • The ~8x revenue growth figure is vendor-supplied with no disclosed base — treat it as direction only
  • Operator move: demand delegated per-user OAuth scopes, pin down retention in the contract, and export your own copy on a schedule

We wire integrations so the data stays yours. Least-privilege OAuth scopes, scheduled exports into storage you own, and a relationship graph that survives a vendor switch. See how we scope integrations or have us review what your sales stack can already read.
