ChatGPT Slides: AI decks in Space, export to PowerPoint
ChatGPT Slides builds team decks in Space with live co-editing and PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides export. Decide where your master sales deck lives first.
OpenAI shipped ChatGPT Slides on October 16: AI-built presentations that your team edits together inside ChatGPT Space. When Space launched, OpenAI said collaborative slides were coming later. Now they are here. For a small business, the question is not "can it make a deck." It is where your master sales deck lives after this.
What actually happened
Per OpenAI's ChatGPT release notes:
- Start points: a conversation, uploaded files, or an outline. You can share an example deck to set style and layout.
- Editing: change text, images, shapes and charts by hand, or ask ChatGPT to do it. It can generate images or use your own.
- Collaboration: teammates edit the same deck in real time and leave shared comments.
- Output: present directly from ChatGPT. On the web, export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides. In the desktop app, open the deck in PowerPoint or Keynote if they are installed.
- Who gets it: rolling out to eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access, on web and desktop. You start by asking ChatGPT in Work to create a presentation in Space.
OpenAI did not publish separate pricing. It comes with the seat.
Why ChatGPT Slides matters for your business
Decks are where your numbers go stale. Your pitch deck, rate card and onboarding deck carry prices, case-study results and terms. If the rep builds a fresh deck from a chat every time, you get five versions of your pricing in five clients' inboxes. Pick one master deck, keep it in the system you own, and treat ChatGPT exports as drafts that go back through it.
The example deck is the real feature. Upload your branded template and the output follows its layout. That is the difference between "AI slides" and slides a client cannot tell from your designer's work. Build one clean template before you let the team loose.
Check every chart against the source. ChatGPT can edit charts on request. Anything with a number on it gets checked against the spreadsheet before it goes out, the same rule you use for any AI output a customer sees.
Watch the seat split. Slides needs Space access on Pro, Business or Enterprise. Plus users on your team cannot co-edit. Know who is in and who is out before you make it the team workflow.
Key takeaways
- ChatGPT Slides launched October 16, 2026, inside ChatGPT Space
- Real-time co-editing, shared comments, and AI edits to text, images and charts
- Web export to PowerPoint, PDF or Google Slides; desktop opens in PowerPoint or Keynote
- Rolling out to Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access
- Keep one master deck you own, upload a brand template, and check every number before it ships
Your pricing should come from one place, not whatever a chat generated. We wire sales decks, quotes and rate cards to a single source of truth, so AI drafts start from current numbers. See how we build it.
